Abstract
A new species of collared lizard, Crotaphytus grismeri, is described f rom the isolated Sierra de Los Cucapas and contiguous Sierra El Mayor, Baja California, Mexico. This species is distinguished from all other Crotaphytus by its small adult size, green pigmentation within the pa le bar separating the anterior and posterior collars, a dull orange co lored tail and hind limbs in subadult females, a unique hind limb colo r pattern, and a well demarcated, pale tan dorsal caudal stripe in juv eniles of both sexes.
