V. Ewerbeck et al., ONCOGENOUS HYPOPHOSPHATEMIC OSTEOMALACIA - CASE-REPORT AND LITERATURE-REVIEW, Zeitschrift fur Orthopadie und Ihre Grenzgebiete, 132(6), 1994, pp. 491-496
Despite the great number of neoplastic entities, which are able to cau
se this disease, ''oncogenous osteomalacia'' is hardly known as a para
neoplastic phenomenon. Without removing the not constantly malignant t
umor as the underlying cause recovery is not possible. Until now patho
genesis is unknown. Together with a review of the literature a case re
port is presented, in which a malignant fibrous histiocytoma of soft t
issue caused an untreatable osteomalacia. Because of failure of local
tumor controll prognosis in this case must be considered fatal.
