S. Mergemeier et F. Scholz, APPLICATION OF THE PHOTOIONIZATION DETECTOR FOR SINGLE DETERMINATIONSOF HYDRIDE FORMING ELEMENTS, Fresenius' journal of analytical chemistry, 350(12), 1994, pp. 659-661
The application of a photoionization detector in conjunction with a fl
ow-through system is described for the determination of arsenic, antim
ony, selenium, tellurium, bismuth, tin, sulfide and ammonia. The analy
tical procedure is based upon a preliminary generation of the hydride
compounds, their subsequent transfer to the gas phase and finally thei
r detection in the photoionization detector. Linear calibration curves
were obtained over three to four orders of magnitude with the followi
ng 3s-detection limits: 4 ng/ml As, 0.3 ng/ml Sb, 0.5 ng/ml Se, 3.0 ng
/ml Te, 0.1 mug/ml Bi, 0.5 mug/ml Sn, 10.0 ng/ml S2-, 0.5 mug/ml NH3.
