Abstract
A new, very simple curve-fitted expression is presented for the radiat ion resistance of resonant rectangular microstrip antennas. It is deri ved from numerical results available in the literature, and is useful for the computer-aided design (CAD) of microstrip antennas. This expre ssion can be used for a wide range of substrate thicknesses and permit tivities. The results obtained by using this expression are in conform ity with those reported elsewhere.
