E. Hardman, SOME ASPECTS OF THE DESIGN OF FILTER FABRICS FOR USE IN SOLID-LIQUID SEPARATION PROCESSES, Filtration & separation, 31(8), 1994, pp. 813-818
Textile filter fabrics are an essential part of countless industrial p
rocesses, contributing to product purity, savings in energy/production
costs and a cleaner environment. The paper describes, in general term
s, the factors which are taken into account when designing a fabric fo
r a solid/liquid separation process. It briefly discusses textile raw
materials and, with particular reference to filtration and filtration
equipment considerations, the elements of cloth constructions and fini
shing procedures.
