The paper describes generation of high-voltage nanosecond pulses with
a shape close to one period of a sine wave. The first unipolar pulse i
s generated by a drift diode with fast recovery (isolated from the out
put by a similar diode), the second half-wave is generated by a short-
circuited coaxial loop connected in parallel to the output. A circuit
diagram is given of a generator built around commercial diodes produci
ng 500-V pulses with a duration of 6 nsec.
