Jr. Moyano et al., STUDY OF THE DISSOLUTION CHARACTERISTICS OF OXAZEPAM VIA COMPLEXATIONWITH BETA-CYCLODEXTRIN, International journal of pharmaceutics, 114(1), 1995, pp. 95-102
Complex formation of oxazepam and beta-cyclodextrin in solution was st
udied by phase solubility and spectral shift methods. The value of the
apparent stability constant, K-c, calculated using these techniques,
was 205 and 498 M(-1), respectively. Solid complexes of oxazepam and b
eta-CD were prepared using the kneading and spray-drying methods. Thes
e complexes led to an improvement in the dissolution rate over free ox
azepam, spray-drying being the most efficient technique. These complex
es were characterized by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), scan
ning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffraction.
