Abstract
Catacondensed monoheptafusenes consist of catafusenes annelated to a h eptagon. Complete mathematical solutions are reported for the numbers of these systems. Two methods were applied: combinatorial summations a nd application of generating functions. Catacondensed monoheptabenzeno ids (geometrically planar catacondensed monoheptafusenes) were enumera ted by computer programming, and the numbers of catacondensed monohept ahelicenes (the corresponding geometrically nonplanar systems) were ob tained as differences. Some of the forms of these helicenes are depict ed.
