Abstract
In this paper the following issues are discussed: the components of th e potential drop at the metal/solution interface and the corresponding components of the differential capacitance; the model interpretation of the metal/solution boundary without and with regard of the metal an d solvent separate contributions; the Amokrane-Badiali model and its i mprovement when taking into account the chemisorptive interaction of s olvent molecules with metals; and, finally, the development of views o n the Volta's problem solution.
