ANALYTIC LIMITS ON PERFORMANCE OF ADAPTIVE MULTISTAGE INTERFERENCE CANCELLATION FOR CDMA

Using Gaussian approximations for multiple access interference, the Le tter presents a closed form bit error rate formula for a simple multis tage interference cancellation system for CDMA. The expression provide s an asymptotic limit on performance improvement as the number of canc ellation stages approaches infinity, and yields a minimum signal/noise ratio requirement for effective interference cancellation.
