Abstract
The authors demonstrate a voltage-controlled distributed Bragg reflect or with a very high off-state reflectivity and low-voltage operation s uitable for use within a vertical-cavity surface-emitting laser. The u nbiased peak reflectivity approaches 99.8% at 980nm, which may be modu lated through the quantum-confined Stark effect by 1%. The mirror allo ws measurement of photocurrent to monitor VCSEL output power.
