Abstract
The authors propose a method to estimate the synchronisation offset fo r orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) frame alignment wi thout resort to pilot tones. A decision-directed maximum-likelihood es timation of frame synchronisation offset is derived, and the performan ce of the proposed scheme is confirmed by computer simulation for QAM systems.
