Abstract
Nutrition knowledge levels measured in a national three-wave survey sh owed that the inter-wave knowledge gap between groups with high and lo w interest remained constant and significant. Interest, not education, was a stronger determinant of knowledge gain resulting from exposure to television programming. Program viewing increased interest and nutr ition knowledge. This finding suggests that through television viewing people can move into the ranks of higher interest.
