Acquired circulating anticoagulants comprise a diverse, complex, and c
onfusing assortment of hemostatic inhibitors. These anticoagulants are
divisible into three board categories: nonspecific inhibitors, multis
pecific inhibitors, and specific inhibitors. Lupus anticoagulants and
certain paraproteins constitute the first group; fibrinogen split prod
ucts, heparin-like paraproteins, and a few drugs make up the second se
lective coagulation, and factor inhibitors compose the third.
