P. Colardelle et al., DELAYED EXTERIORIZATION IN GROIN OF A PSO AS ABSCESS AFTER AN ACUTE-PANCREATITIS, Gastroenterologie clinique et biologique, 18(11), 1994, pp. 1028-1032
Two cases of psoas abscess complicating acute necrotising pancreatitis
are reported These cases were particuliar because the abscesses exter
iorized in the groin and symptoms were misleading. The abscesses were
detected late, three and five months after the beginning of the pancre
atitis respectively. The difficulties in diagnosis and the long delay
to diagnosis are emphasized as possible sources of superinfection.
