Jw. Muritu et al., EVALUATION OF TETRACYCLINE RAW-MATERIALS AND FINISHED PRODUCTS FOUND ON THE KENYAN MARKET, Journal of pharmaceutical and biomedical analysis, 12(12), 1994, pp. 1483-1488
Contents of tetracycline, its degradation products (epitetracycline, e
pianhydrotetracycline, anhydrotetracycline) and a fermentation impurit
y (2-acetyl-2-decarboxamidotetracycline) were determined in four raw m
aterials, 12 batches of six ointment products, four eye ointment produ
cts and nine batches of five capsule products, all sampled from the Ke
nyan market. The analytical method was liquid chromatography on a colu
mn packed with,a poly(styrenedivinylbenzene) material (8-mu m PLRP-S 1
00 Angstrom). All raw materials and finished products had tetracycline
contents and impurity levels within the prescribed compendial limits.
