P. Koifman et al., MULTIPLE ARTERY-STENOSIS BEGINNING A DEGE NERATED POLYCHONDRITIS - ABOUT ONE CASE, Journal des maladies vasculaires, 19(4), 1994, pp. 320-322
A case of multiple arterial stenosis is reported in a patient with atr
ophic polychondritis. The disease was diagnosed retrospectively nine y
ears after the first vascular signs on the basis of clinical course. A
trophic polychondritis is a rare connective tissue disease with charac
teristic chondritis. Cardiovascular involvement occurres in one-fourth
of the cases during the clinical course leading to poor prognosis. St
enosis of the peripheral arteries has not been reported, to our knowle
dge, as the inaugural sign in atrophic polychondritis (J Mal Vasc 1994
; 19 : pages 320-322).
