DISTEMPER

This article represents a summary of the knowledge concerning distempe r. It outlines the study of the virus according to its physio-chemical and biological characteristics. The interactions between the virus an d its hosts are studied in the light of recent findings concerning ter restrial and marine carnivores as well as dolphins. An important chapt er is dedicated to the control of the disease in the dog, but also in other wild species likely to contract the disease. Finally, the perspe ctives of the development of new vaccines by new technologies are disc ussed.
