H-2-NMR pulse techniques have been applied to probe reorientational mo
tion of small deuterated polystyrene spheres in suspensions of a visco
us liquid on a time scale of 10(-3)-1 s. The rotational correlation fu
nctions obtained could be fitted by stretched exponentials with a stre
tching parameter that decreases on lowering the temperature. The hydro
dynamic sphere radius obtained from the mean rotational correlation ti
mes agrees with that from dynamic light scattering in dilute suspensio
ns.
