Abstract
We have investigated the molecular interface between an azo pigment an d an alpha-phenylstilbene derivative where photocarriers are extrinsic ally produced from a microscopic viewpoint. From the measurement of th e azo-pigment photoluminescence quenching by the alpha-phenylstilbene derivative, only the molecules that contact with the azo-pigment parti cles are known to promote generation of the photocarriers. The electro n-transfer reaction at the interface for photocarrier generation is pr oven to occur adiabatically.
