Abstract
The global dearth of standardized, objective, and reliable ways of des cribing and classifying child behavioral and emotional problems is par ticularly acute in Third-World Caribbean nations such as Jamaica. To h elp reduce this deficit, a screening instrument designed for and stand ardized on Jamaican children aged 6-11 was developed. Teacher reported child problem behavior is scored on two empirically derived syndromes (over- and undercontrolled) and on total problems. Scores are present ed on a child problem profile.
