Abstract
Participant Mike Strachan reports on the agricultural scene in norther n Germany, focusing particularly on the changes brought about by the u nification of East and West. Purely for the sake of clarity, locations of visits are identified in this article as 'East Germany' or 'West G ermany'. Readers should note that these terms ceased to have any offic ial status in 1990, both being superseded by 'Germany'.
