Abstract
The methods of physical and chemical evaluation of ruthenium hydrogena tion catalysts are surveyed. Special attention is paid to chemisorptio n of hydrogen, oxygen and carbon monooxide on the active metal surface . The related methods such as TPD/TPR and oxygen-hydrogen titration ar e also mentioned. The physical methods are discussed in view of their application in the characterization of ruthenium hydrogenation catalys ts.
