Abstract
The lecture gives first a survey of university structure in USA at the time of postwar development and broad governmental support. This situ ation is compared with the changes occurring recently. School limitati ons caused by economical situation are analyzed in detail, including t he methods used by the universities for their solution in order not on ly to survive but even to improve own quality.
