Abstract
The first thermoelectric investigation of fast neutron irradiated poly crystalline superconductors YBa2Cu4O8 reveals that with a rising fluen ce the absolute values of thermoelectric power increase gradually, the transition temperature shifts from 77 to 72 K, whereas the thermal co nductivity diminishes due to the suppression of electron and phonon me an free paths by the defects created in the CuO2 layers.
