An experimental study of two phase boiling heat transfer of liquid nit
rogen in a vertical lunate channel, which was formed by extreme eccent
ric circular tubes, was carried out and is reported. The experimental
results show that the heat flux amounts to 9000 W/m2 while the tempera
ture difference of heat transfer is only 1.1 K in lunate channel. The
performance of heat transfer reaches the similar level as sintered tub
e with porous surface whose boiling heat transfer coefficient is admit
ted to be the highest at present.
