Abstract
The wind and react method has been used to construct small size superc onducting coils with Bi-2212/Ag single core and multifilamentary round wires. Critical current measurements vs field and temperature perform ed on short wire samples and coils, treated at the same time in furnac e, demonstrate wire degradation during coil manufacturing. Specific ca racterizations and tests, executed on our coil prototypes, allow to ma ke considerations about the main causes of wire degradation to be remo ved in order to improve the manufacturing technology.
