Abstract
Treatment of (eta(5)-RC(5)H(4))Fe(Co)(2)I (R = H, Me) with 1,1'-bis(di phenylphosphino)ferrocene (dppf) in refluxing benzene afforded {[(eta( 5)-RC(5)H(4))Fe(Co)(eta(2)-dppf)]I-+(-)} (R = H, 1a; R = Me, 1b), (eta (5)-RC(5)H(4))-Fe(CO)I(eta(1)-dppf) (2a, 2b), and [(eta(5)-RC(5)H(4))F e(CO)I](2)(mu,eta(2)-dPPf) (3a, 3b). The same reaction catalyzed by [C pFe(CO)(2)](2) produced only 1a and 1b. Compound 1a crystallizes in sp ace group P (1) over bar with a = 11.201(4)Angstrom, b = 13.597(4) Ang strom, c = 14.692(5)Angstrom, alpha = 78.36(3)degrees, beta = 83.58(3) degrees, gamma = 75.00(3)degrees, V = 2112(1) Angstrom(3), Z = 2 and R (F) = 0.055.
