Abstract
Two-spacecraft terminal-phase rendezvous targeting and navigation are examined for the circular restricted three-body problem. A targeting l aw and navigation filter are developed assuming the traditional passiv e target-active chaser vehicle relationship. The targeting law is demo nstrated using a small-radius translunar halo orbit and ideal navigati on; the three-body terminal-phase rendezvous problem is then further c haracterized and contrasted with the two-body problem. Nonlinear simul ation results validate the navigation filter design and provide data t o assess the filter performance. To demonstrate the entire guidance an d navigation system, two profiles for terminal-phase rendezvous were c onsidered in a planar circular orbit and two equivalent profiles in an H-2 guided halo orbit.
