Abstract
A neotype for the sand dollar Mellita quinquiesperforata (Leske, 1778) is designated and described. Quantitative and qualitative data are gi ven for the test, spines, and pedicellariae of the neotype. Figures of plate and food groove patterns are also given for non-type specimens.
