Acquired tracheoesophageal fistula (aTEF) due to a decubital ulcer cau
sed by an impacted foreign body is rare in the pediatric age group. Th
e diagnosis of an aTEF is relatively easy by X-ray and endoscopy. Surg
ical intervention is difficult, and post-operative results are poor. W
e report an 11-year-old child with an aTEF caused by an ingested forei
gn body that was successfully treated without complication or recurren
ce.
