Abstract
A model of the EG And symbiotic system in which both components have a stellar wind is proposed. It is supposed that a region of ionization is formed at the interface of the colliding winds in this system and t hat part of the giant's wind is ionized by the hot component also. The profiles, intensities and radial velocities of the Halpha line, and s ome ultraviolet emission lines taken from the literature, are treated in the framework of this model.
