This paper presents results of a fundamental, experimental study on wi
nd loading of porous facade systems. The important parameters - relati
ve building dimensions, porosity, and gap width - have been varied sys
tematically in a model scale study. Both time averaged and fluctuating
pressures have been measured. Therefore, wind loads using the quasi-s
tatic approach and the peak pressure approach may be derived. The vali
dity of the model scale investigation has been checked by full scale e
xperiments.
