Abstract
An assay for dioxin-like compounds in environmental matrices was devel oped, based on the competitive association of the sample and a fixed a liqout of radiolabelled TCDD for a fixed aliquot of Ah receptor obtain ed from C57BL/6 mouse liver. Results obtained using the receptor-based assay were compared with those obtained by CC-MS; the extent to which extensive chromatographic clean-up of the sample was required prior t o the receptor-based assay was also determined.
