In this paper Mane examines the concept of lifestyle, lifestyle develo
pment and its importance for shaping good health in the individual's c
ontext. She identifies some major determinants of such lifestyles and
examines how these impinge upon these lifestyles. In doing so Mane cau
tions a simplistic and deterministic use of the term 'lifestyle' and a
pproach to lifestyle development/changes.
