Abstract
Two new bathyal species of the genus Neobythites bring the total numbe r of species in the western Atlantic to five. One new species, N. unic olor, is characterized by the lack of ocelli and vertical and horizont al stripes on the fins and body. The other new species, N. elongatus, has a brownish, marbled pigmentation on the dorsal part of the body bu t lacks ocelli and stripes on the fins and body.
