Abstract
The Positive and Negative FAB-MS of the mixed twenty phosphorylated am ino acids were reported. It was found that the triethylamine and glyce rol matrix background was suppressed. By this insitu phosphorylation m ethod, all twenty amino acids could be detected no matter how much pho sphoryltion reagent was used. The basic amino acids showed much greate r response to the positive FAB-MS. While the neutral and acidic amino acids were give much more intense molecular ion peaks in the negative FAB-MS, This method could apply to the qualitative detection of the am ino acids in samples.
