Abstract
Studies on the occurrence and pathology of naturally occurring biliary amphistomiasis in buffaloes and cattle were conducted. The occurrence of Gigantocotyle explanatum was much higher in buffaloes (87.09%) tha n in cattle (35%). Grossly, the liver was enlarged and the cut surface of the liver revealed numerous flukes in the lumen of the bile-ducts. Histopathologically, there was marked proliferation of bileducts form ing irregular acinous or tubular structures, arteriolosclerosis and ly mphocytic infiltration in the interlobular connective tissue.
