Bd. Baykov, AN OBJECTIVE METHOD FOR ASSESSMENT OF THE MOVEMENT OF CHEMICAL-ELEMENTS IN ANTHROPOGENIC ECOSYSTEMS (DOMESTIC-ANIMAL FARMS), Toxicological and environmental chemistry, 42(3-4), 1994, pp. 227-233
Studies on the structure and functions of ecotechnical systems (domest
ic animal farms) revealed that there is an interrupted turnover of mat
ter which does not allow to apply the well known ecological method for
comparison of the amounts of chemical elements of lithospheric origin
in the biomass according to their klarcks in the lithospheric zone. A
nalysis of both basic components at the input of an ecotechnical syste
m-fodder and drinking water-showed that the water is a considerable so
urce of biogenic and toxic chemical elements of lithospheric origin. O
n the basis of these studies an objective method for assessment of the
movement of chemical elements in anthropogenic ecosystems was develop
ed by using a new criterion: klarck of concentration (Kc), determined
after integral evaluation of the amounts of chemical elements introduc
ed through the fodder and water. By using a mathematical model it is p
ossible to predict the quality of bioproducts used for food of human b
eings based also on the content of biogenic and toxic chemical element
s of lithospheric origin.
