P. Bach et al., APPLICATION OF NUCLEAR ANALYTICAL TECHNIQUES USING LONG-LIFE SEALED-TUBE NEUTRON GENERATORS, Biological trace element research, 43-5, 1994, pp. 131-139
The new range of sealed-tube neutron generators developed by SODERN ap
pears to be appropriate for the industrial environment. The main chara
cteristics are the high emission stability during the very long lifeti
me of the tube, flexible pulsed mode capability, safety in operation w
ith no radiation in ''off'' state, and the easy transportation of equi
pment. Some applications of the neutron generators, called GENIE, are
considered: high-sensitivity measurement of transuranic elements in nu
clear waste drums, bulk material analysis for process control, and det
ermination of the airborne pollutants for environmental monitoring.
