Av. Budin et al., STUDY OF THE OPERATING-CONDITIONS OF THE LIGHT-GAS ELECTRIC GENERATORS DISCHARGE CHAMBER, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 31(1), 1995, pp. 399-403
The main types of the electric discharge in hydrogen of high density (
up to 30 g/dm(3)) with the current of up to I MA and the duration of p
ulse of up to ms are considered. The aim of this emprove the coefficie
nt of transition electric energy from the power supply source into the
are load. As a result of the research three main operating regimes of
the discharge chamber were determined: monopulsed regime, multipulsed
regime and stationary or short circuit regime. A dependance between t
he regimes and the value of the gap between the electrodes and the ele
ctrodes material was determined. The working range of the values of th
e gap between the electrodes was determined as 0.8-3.0 mm. The power s
upply is a capacitor bank with working voltage of 30 kV and electric c
apacity of 0.08 F, which consists of autonomously controlled modules.
The oscillograms of current and voltage drop in the are are presented.
