A novel norbornadiene polymer having optically active pinanyl groups i
n the pendant groups was synthesized as an optical resolution membrane
material. The resulting polymer membrane showed highly enantioselecti
ve permeability for racemic propranolol used as a medicine. The permea
bility of tryptophan was much higher than that of a (+)-poly{1-[dimeth
yl(10-pinanyl)silyl]-1-propyne} membrane we reported previously. Copyr
