The influence of temperature on the kinetics of dissolution of the amo
rphous aluminosilicate precursor with an Si:Al molar ratio 1.178:1 has
been studied by measuring the change in the Al and Si concentrations
in the liquid phase during the dissolution in 0.2 mol l(-1) NaOH solut
ion. The change in the dissolution temperature does not affect the mec
hanism of the dissolution, only the rates of the forward and back reac
tions. Activation energies of the forward and back reactions were dete
rmined from the corresponding Arrhenius plots.
