Two new aromatic glycosides, benzyl ta-D-apiofuranosyl-(1-->6)]-beta-D
-glucopyranoside and ranosyl-(1-->6)]-beta-D-glucopyranosyloxy-benzyli
c alcohol, have been isolated from the aerial parts of Pyrus bourgaean
a (Rosaceae). The structures were elucidated by spectral analyses (inc
luding 2D-NMR spectral measurements) and chemical methods. Arbutin and
four other aromatic glycosides have also been isolated and identified
.
