Abstract
[(PMe2Ph)2PtB8H10NH] (1a, 63% from [PtCl2(PMe2Ph)2], arachno-4-NB8H13 and base) has a ten-vertex {arachno-9,6-PtNB8} cluster, whereas [(eta( 6)-C(6)Me(6))RUB(8)H(10)NH] (2a, 19% from [(eta(6)-C(6)Me(6))RUC(l2)]( 2) and nido-6-NB9H12) and [(eta(6)-MeC(6)H(4)(i)Pr)RuB8H10NH] (2b, 46% from [(eta(6)-MeC(6)H(4)(i)Pr)RUCl(2)](2) and [NMe(4)]+ [arachno-4-NB 9H13](-)) have ten-vertex {nido-8,6-RuNB8} clusters.
