P. Schurtenberger, STATIC AND DYNAMIC PROPERTIES OF MICELLES, MICROEMULSIONS AND VESICLES, Current opinion in colloid & interface science, 1(6), 1996, pp. 773-778
Considerable progress has been made in understanding the static and dy
namic properties of micelles and microemulsions, in particular from co
nsiderations of the role of the bending elastic energy of the surfacta
nt monolayer. Topics such as the formation and properties of polymer-l
ike giant micelles, the link between the elastic properties of the sur
factant film, and the aggregate microstructure and its influence on lo
cal (shape fluctuations) and global (viscosity, self-diffusion) dynami
c properties have also received much attention recently.
