Abstract
By two step mutagenesis with N-methyl N'-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine a nu mber of lysine threonine double auxotrophic mutants of Brevibacterium heali have been isolated from soil. Two strain namely BhLT5 and BhLT18 produced 5.2 g/l and 5.5 g/l methionine in the medium under optimal c oncentration of C-source, N2-source, cystine level, inoculum dose, ant ibiotic concentration, etc.
