Abstract
The obstetrician/gynecologist can play a pivotal role in the identific ation of alcohol-related problems in women. Direct intervention by the OB/GYN or referral to a specialized treatment program can initiate th e recovery process for these women and prevent or improve many of thei r alcohol-related health problems.
