Abstract
Two spontaneous mutants, white eye (w) and yellow larva (y), were isol ated and characterized from the Bangalore (southern India) and Poona ( western India) strains, respectively, of the malarial mosquito, Anophe les stephensi (Liston) (Diptera: culicidae). The w mutation is a sex-l inked recessive. The second mutant, y, is an autosomal recessive.
