A methanesulfonic electrolyte was formulated to produce bright tin-lea
d coatings. Mathematical design of experiments and regression data ana
lysis involving a quantitative estimate of coating quality by a method
of expert assessment were employed. From the regression equations obt
ained, the electrolyte composition and electrolysis conditions, which
are recommended for producing bright tin-lead coatings with a preset c
omposition, were optimized.
